Day 1
Departure from Kolkata (NO MEALS)
Prepare for the upcoming adventure that awaits you.
Day 2
Ha Noi arrival & local sightseeing (B, L & D – Indian food)
- The half-day city tour begins with a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Complex and Ba Dinh Square, an important point of pilgrimage for many Vietnamese.
- The area surrounding the complex is a traffic-free zone filled with botanical
gardens, monuments, memorials, and pagodas, and includes the Ho Chi Minh
Mausoleum (outside), Ho Chi Minh’s Stilt House, the Presidential Palace, Ho Chi Minh Museum. Travel back in time to the nearby simple cottage on stilts where Ho Chi Minh lived and worked during his humble beginnings as a revolutionary. - Walk a few blocks out of the Ho Chi Minch Complex to the 11th-century Buddhist One Pillar Pagoda, an elegant construction rising from the center of a square-shaped lotus pond on a solitary pillar.
- Continue to the Temple of Literature, known as the first university of Vietnam built in 1070 by the Ly Dynasty to honor Confucius, sages, and outstanding Vietnamese scholars.
- Following the complex’s visit, head for a walk around the Old Quarter, famous for its ancient streets representing traditional trades from the past.
- The evening will begin with an unforgettable Water Puppet Show. Water puppetry is a unique Vietnamese art form performed in a large pool using the water as a stage. It is considered one of the most traditional and important parts of Vietnamese culture.
- You will also enjoy the Vietnamese orchestra, which provides the background
music for the show. The orchestra is manned by an array of talented singers
accompanied by professional musicians performing with traditional musical
instruments. The show is a great way to learn more about Vietnamese rural life and folklore. - After that, you will have Dinner at an Indian restaurant. Overnight stay at Ha Noi hotel.
Day 3
Ha Noi to Ha Long on a cruise (B, L & D – Local food)
- Following breakfast leave Hanoi for a 2.5-hour drive to Ha Long Bay including a 20-minute stop on the way.
- Arrive at the jetty in Ha Long City towards noon and proceed with check-in formalities. Be welcomed onboard and lunch will be served while cruising towards the bay itself.
- In the afternoon, enjoy some visits and/or activities (depending on each boat’s itinerary) or just spend some time relaxing on board.
- Towards the end of the day, the boat sets anchor for the night among the karst formations. Dinner is served on board.
Day 4
Ha Long to Da Nang (B & Brunch – Local food)
- Enjoy the fresh morning in the middle of the bay, the sun rises on Ha Long in the morning and breakfast is served (brunch on some boats) while the vessels cruise slowly through the magnificent rock formations and back towards the port.
- Disembark and transfer back to Hanoi. Arrive in Hanoi late in the afternoon and transfer to Noi Bai airport for a flight to Da Nang.
- Arrival at Da Nang airport, pick up by our guide & driver then transfer to Hotel for check-in. Overnight stay at the Da Nang hotel.
Day 5
Full Day Cam Thanh Village – Hoi An City Tour (B & L – Indian food)
- Start your half-day excursion to Cam Thanh village by transferring to Bach Dang dock.
- Board a local wooden basket boat to Cam Thanh water coconut village to learn about the daily life of Vietnamese fishermen, their families, and their community, and begin cruising to Cua Dai River where there are thousands of water coconut trees that used to be the habitat of Vietnamese army during the war. Join in local fishermen on the river and experience learning traditional fishing techniques on the round net or cast net. Learn how to paddle the Vietnamese unique bamboo basket boat.
- Explore the now tranquil coconut-palm-flanked waterways of a past war and hear of the extreme conditions endured by soldiers of both sides.
- After that, you will take a city tour. Once a bustling maritime commercial port of Asia between the 15th and 19th centuries, Hoi An, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, is now a peaceful town of exceptionally well-preserved architecture, lifestyles, and traditions. The town exemplifies a fascinating fusion of cultures between Vietnam and the outside world including China, Japan, Thailand, and the Philippines.
- Your sightseeing will include the iconic 400-year-old Covered Bridge with a small temple attached to one side as a prominent example of Japanese architecture, the Museum of Trade Ceramics which is an elegant Vietnamese-style wooden house built in 1858 showcasing antique ceramic artifacts.
- You will also visit the 200-year-old Tan Ky House typifying an ancient Chinese merchant residence, Ong Temple built in 1653 by Chinese settlers to worship Guan Yu, an ancient Chinese general whose character stands for loyalty, bravery, and justice, and the local market vibrant with colors and activities.
- Overnight stay at the Da Nang hotel.
Day 6
Excursion to Ba Na Hills & Golden Bridge (B & L – Local food)
- Morning, departure for Ba Na Hills, or Chua Mount (Mount of Goddess), bypassing the sea-shore on Nguyen Tat Thanh Street, one of the most beautiful roads of Da Nang City and Red Beach.
- Ba Na Hills used to be a small French resort nestled in the mountains and recently has been turning into the most well-known amusement park in Vietnam thanks to its good location, formation, and climate.
- Arrive at the Cable car station at the foot of Ba Na Mountain. Enjoy the first leg Cable car, which achieves two Guinness World records as the longest non-stop cable car (5,042m) and the highest non-stop cable car (1,292m). The cable cars were built to feed the mountaintop of Ba Na Hills, but they’re also the perfect way to get spectacular views of Danang and the surrounding forests.
- Upon reaching Ba Na Hills, start the trip with a visit to Golden Bridge which is designed to connect the cable car station with the main gardens of this mountaintop. It also provides a scenic overlook and tourist attraction. The
gold-coloured walkway is lined with purple Lobelia Chrysanthemums and is 150 meters long with two giant hands, constructed of fiberglass and wire mesh. These two hands appear like stone hands that support the structure. - After the Golden Bridge, we’ll continue to visit Le Jardin d’ Amour, old wineries, remains of French Villas, and Ling Ung Pagoda with a 27m high Buddha statue. We then leave the Le Jardin for the second cable car station to visit the top of the mountain where there are remains of the old French villas found.
- Start conquering the Peak of Chua Mount at the height of 1,487m, viewing the whole of Da Nang city under a cluster of white clouds.
- After the Peak of Chua Mount, visit the trail of Dreaming Stream, Rainbow Waterfall, Suspension Bridge, Golden Valley, and ruined Opera House.
- Lunch at a local restaurant. Play with wild monkeys and take photos. Freely until time back to the Cable car Station to return to the foot of the Mountain.
- Transfer back to Da Nang City.
- Overnight stay at the Da Nang hotel.
Day 7
Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh (B & L – Indian food)
- Free at leisure until transfer to Da Nang airport for flight to Ho Chi Minh.
Arrive at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, welcome by our guide, and transfer to your hotel for check-in. - Ho Chi Minh City, formerly and still commonly known as Saigon, is the most populous city in Vietnam. Vibrating with energy and innovation, the city is the economic heart of Vietnam and the main hub of the southern region. As a cosmopolitan metropolis of the country, its dynamic cityscape combining the old and the new of Vietnam has made it one of the most attractive destinations for visitors.
- Meet our tour guide at your hotel lobby and take a half-day city tour. First, discover the very popular War Remnants Museum, the one that gathers a comprehensive collection of the machinery, weapons, photographs, and documentation of the Vietnam Wars. See displays of old military equipment and other related objects as well as larger exhibits including an F5A fighter and a UH1-Huey helicopter.
- Next, the century-old Reunification Palace, witness to the historic events of old Saigon and famous for its architectural characteristics. It witnessed the growth of Ho Chi Minh City during peacetime and throughout the Vietnam War until its end in 1975.
- After that, we will visit Ben Thanh Market, a lively market in District 1, a bustling destination that’s popular with tourists due to its central location. You can browse its wide selection of goods before your tour ends with transportation back to your hotel or drop-off at another central location if you wish.
- Overnight stay at the Ho Chi Minh hotel.
Day 8
Ho Chi Minh City & Chu Chi Tunnel (B & L – Indian food)
- Morning, take a half-day tour to the Cu Chi Tunnels, 75 km Northwest of downtown Ho Chi Minh City, which was once a major underground hideout and resistance base of Viet Cong forces during the two wars against the French and later on Americans.
- The tunnels, entirely hand-dug, formed a highly intricate network of interlinked multilevel passageways at times stretched as far as the Cambodian border and totalled over 120 km in length. Its complexity was beyond imagination containing meeting rooms, kitchens, wells, clinics, schools, depots, trenches, and emergency exits all aimed at guerrilla warfare. The tunnels were deep and strong enough to withstand destructive bombings and self-contained enough to outlast prolonged sieges.
- Back to Ho Chi Minh City for lunch.
- Afternoon, visit Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica a neo-Roman cathedral built by the colonial French with materials entirely imported from Marseilles. Discover the magnificent neo-Romanesque architecture as you take in the tranquil atmosphere inside.
- Then continue with the Central Post Office to know more about this significant landmark – one of the oldest buildings in Ho Chi Minh City and the busiest post office in Vietnam with the neoclassical style of the interior. You can also see painted maps of the former Saigon here. This Central Post Office was designed and constructed in the early 20th Century by the famous French architect Gustave Eiffel.
- Last but not least, we will visit the Cho Lon area or the city’s Chinatown and Jade Emperor Temple (Phuoc Hai), a rare Taoist structure in Vietnam built by the Cantonese community in the area in 1909.
- Overnight stay at the Ho Chi Minh hotel.
Day 9
Departure Day with excursion to Mekong Delta (B & L – Local food)
- Morning, travel by car to the Mekong Delta, the world’s largest delta and Vietnam’s largest rice bowl.
- On arrival in My Tho City, the capital of Tien Giang Province, board a motorboat and navigate through intricate canals while observing the local daily life up close as well as the landscape of waterways and lush islands. Land on Thoi Son Island to listen to the Southern traditional music performed by native artists.
- Continue the tour with a paddleboat to cruise more canals before visiting households with traditional occupations of home-based coconut candy and rice-wine making. Switch back to a motorboat to go to a bee farm to enjoy fresh honey tea and fresh fruits.
- On the way back to My Tho, stop to visit Vinh Trang Pagoda, a prominent local Buddhist structure built in 1850 with a unique architectural mixture of Vietnamese, Roman, Chinese, and Cambodian styles characterized by a highly ornate façade.
- Our tour guide will meet and pick you up at your hotel to transfer you to Tan Son Nhat International Airport in an air-conditioned vehicle.
