These caves can also be considered one of the many specialties of the place. Also, the caves have another name for themselves and are rightly called ‘Caves in the Abode of the Clouds’.

Itinerary

Day 1: Guwahati Airport - Shillong
  • Pick up from Guwahati Airport and have a memorable drive to Shillong (Scotland of the East) through the scenic greenery hills of Meghalaya.
  • En route, we'd visit the popular Kamakhya devi temple and Umiam Lake which is one of the biggest artificial lakes in Meghalaya.
  • Overnight stay in Shillong
Day 2: Shillong To Cherrapunjee (Sohra) (Enroute Visit Mawphlang Sacred Grove)
Breakfast and freshen up.
  • Today we will head deeper into the Khasi hills & towards the more gorgeous parts of Meghalaya. Today’s journey is full of places to see. On the way to Cheerapunjee visit Mawphlang Sacred Grove. After heading onward Journey to Cheerapunjee and witnessing and being mesmerized, By the end of the day, you would
  • Have visited the following places:
  • Mawkdok Viewpoint.
  • Wha Kaba falls.
  • Mawsmai Caves.
  • For the night, check-in to Hotel/ Resort
  • Overnight Stay in Cheerapunjee.

Day 3: Single Root Bridge, Trek to Double Decker Bridge
    • After early morning breakfast, We'll also visit the Seven Sister Fall which is a beautiful seven-segmented waterfall stretching along a rocky cliff. Afterward, we'll be visiting one of the most notable landmarks in Cherrapunji which is the Mawsmai Caves. The caves are made of limestone with stunning stalactites adorning the roofs giving them a mystical charm.
    • Then we'll head towards Nongriat village and start our trek to the iconic Double Decker Living Roots Bridge. The trail consists of the gushing sound of river, clusters of colorful butterflies, and enchanting forests making it extremely fulfilling.
    • Overnight stay in Cherrapunji.
Day 4: Cherrapunjee to Mawlynnong to Dawki (Shnongpdeng)
    • After breakfast in the morning, you will visit the once-awarded cleanest village in Asia, Mawlynnong.
    • Witness the 100+ years old Living Root Bridge of Riwai Village followed by a short 10-minute trek.
    • Post this you will be driving close to the India-Bangladesh border to visit the Dawki Village.
    • It is famous for being the home to the clean and crystal waters of the Umngot River.
    • Witness the transparent river bed of the Umngot River, also known as the Dawki River. (IF WEATHER AND WATER LEVEL PERMIT).
    • Overnight stay in Dwaki.

Day 5: Dawki to Jowai to Shillong
    • After Breakfast, in the morning Head out to Jowai.
    • En route Visit Laitlum Grand Canyon and head back on the Journey to the Jaintia Hills and visit the Famous Krang Suri Waterfall.
    • After, a small trek to Phe Phe Falls and witness the beauty of the Phe Phe Falls which is not to be missed in the Jantia Hills.
    • Evening return back to Shillong.
    • Overnight Stay in Shillong.
Day 6: Drive from Shillong to Guwahati
  • After early morning breakfast, we'll check out of our hotel rooms and head back to Guwahati.
  • Drop Guwahati.
